Your small business and the EU - Edinburgh

The vote on whether we should remain in the EU is a once in a generation decision and will impact the future of small businesses across Scotland. With the EU referendum now almost 100 days away, we believe it's essential that small businesses have an opportunity to ask questions about the EU and better understand how it impacts small businesses.

Did you know that:
- The EU provides financing for small firms in Scotland in the form of grants, loans and guarantees
The late payments directive that helps small businesses get paid on time came from the EU
- Of all British small and medium sized businesses that export, 88% do so to the EU
- The EU invests in Scottish infrastructure, such as roads, enabling businesses to travel more easily for deliveries and access

To ensure that small businesses have access to facts like these, we will be running a series of small business events across the UK from now until referendum day on 23 June.

On 5 April 2016, we will be holding an informal awareness raising event for young entrepreneurs and business owners in Edinburgh. Speakers will include John Edward, Chief Campaign Spokesman for Scotland Stronger IN Europe, Michelle Ovens MBE, Director of Peak B Ltd with others to be confirmed in the coming weeks. There will be lots of opportunities for questions, discussion and networking.

Scotland Stronger IN Europe is campaigning for Scotland to remain in the EU ahead of the forthcoming referendum on June 23.
